May 2020

Dear Michelle,

As we enter our 46th day in lockdown, we want to assure you that we are here to help you and your students and will continue to offer uninterrupted access and support for all Renaissance products.

Over the past few weeks, we have really enjoyed seeing all your shared stories of how you are keeping children reading at home with myON. To help keep the nation’s students reading, we are not only offering every school unlimited access to over 7,000 enhanced digital books, but also 5 daily news articles from myON News. It doesn’t matter which, if any, Renaissance solutions you currently use, we are making this valuable resource freely available for the duration of school closure due to COVID-19.  Start reading here

Our 'Renaissance at home' initiative is still going strong, including a series of guides to share with students and parents in order to help facilitate reading for pleasure at home.

And finally, to help ensure you are maximising your Renaissance solution during school closures, we are offering all customers a free 45-minute session on a first-come, first-served basis. Book in your free session.

Read: A new Trust-wide reading culture

Charnwood College is secondary academy part of The David Ross Education Trust. With a higher-than-average proportion of Free School Meal pupils, they rolled out Accelerated Reader and Star Reading to improve reading levels and develop a love of reading for all pupils across the trust.

We spoke to Lara Morley, Lead Practitioner in English and Lucy Brotherhood, TA/Temporary Librarian, to get their view on why Renaissance has worked so well for Charnwood College.

Webinars: The new Twilight Zone?

As you might expect, we’ve upped our webinar offering recently! Since schools closed, we’ve hosted several for different audiences. As we juggle working from home, taking care of our families, schools’ expectations, and who-even-knows what else, now’s the time to boldly go where you’ve never gone before: into the world of webinars!
