Pupil Premium



Pupil Premium is additional money allocated to schools by the Government. It is based on the number of pupils on Free School Meals and is intended to help them reach their full potential.

Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit. However, schools will be held accountable for how they have used the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families

Literacy and Numeracy Intervention Tutors

3 x P/T staff

Small group literacy intervention by specialist SPLD teacher

1 x P/T, 1 x F/T staff

Speech & Language Intervention

Small group and one to one work from assessments made by speech and language therapist.

1 x P/T staff

Accelerated Reading Programme.

Collaboration of key subject areas and form tutors to provide a reading rich environment within the school timetable.

Department intervention.

Subject areas design individual intervention plans following termly data analysis.

Year 7 (transition from yr6) targeted year 8 and 9. Small group work.

Dedicated teaching assistant and teacher of EAL based in specialist room.

Weekly sessions of 30-60mins.

Counselling Services

Behaviour Improvement Officer.

Full time member of staff who provides, pastoral care, mentoring and boxing/gym skills

Behaviour Improvement Officer.

Full time specialist tutor for PSP students and other targeted students. Manager of internal seclusion.

1 x P/T staff

Buddying scheme.

Sixth form students are paired with year 7 students for one to one sessions. Training is provided by our behaviour improvement officer.
